Endoscopic Forehead Lift
Smooth forehead lines, release frown muscles — no long scars.
An endoscopic forehead lift targets the horizontal lines across your forehead and the vertical "11 lines" between your brows. Unlike a traditional open forehead lift that requires a long incision across the top of your head, the endoscopic approach uses a thin camera inserted through small incisions hidden in your hairline.
It is ideal for healthy adults aged 35-65 who have:
- Deep horizontal forehead lines that deepen when you raise your eyebrows
- Vertical "11 lines" between your brows from repeated frowning
- A heavy, tired-looking brow position
- Good skin elasticity and realistic expectations
Many patients combine a forehead lift with a brow lift or eyelid surgery for more comprehensive upper face rejuvenation.
Precision surgery through tiny hidden incisions.
The procedure takes 2-3 hours, performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia.
The surgeon's steps:
- Make 3-5 small incisions behind the hairline, completely hidden once your hair grows back
- Insert an endoscope (camera) through one incision, viewing the underlying muscles on a monitor
- Carefully release the muscles that cause the frown lines between your brows — this is the key difference from a simple skin lift
- Lift the forehead skin to a more youthful position and secure it with dissolvable sutures
- Close the incisions with fine sutures and apply a light dressing
Back to normal in 7-10 days, results that last for years.
Most patients return to normal activities within 7-10 days. Here's what to expect:
- Days 1-3: Mild swelling around the forehead and eyes. Rest, keep your head elevated, and take pain medication as needed.
- Days 4-7: Swelling starts to fade. Bruising changes color from purple to yellow. Sutures are usually removed at about day 7.
- Weeks 2-3: Most bruising is gone. You can return to work and light activities.
- 3-6 months: Final results settle in. The forehead looks relaxed and natural, not pulled.
Results last 7-10 years. Patients consistently say people tell them they look "calm" and "well-rested," not "done."
Most patients are well enough to explore China by day 5-7 — you can recover in comfort, then enjoy Shanghai's Bund or local cuisine.
